The analysis of experimental data that once occupied a PhD student for months can be done in an afternoon. That accelerates the research cycle dramatically, but it does not remove the most important thing: responsibility. When a bridge, a drug or an algorithm reaches real use, someone must have signed for it. That someone is you. Models fail in ways that are hard to catch — they invent results, miss constraints, misunderstand unusual conditions. Your expert judgment is the final line of defense. Focus on verifying output, on clean methodology, and on explaining your work to people who do not speak the theory. Learn to work alongside the models, not against them: know what they can do and where they stumble. The role is not disappearing, but it will ask more thinking about why than about how.
